I'm an alien, I'm a Woman in this world.

#MeToo #NotInMyName #Femicide - These are some of the scriptures that have created the verses of our daily lives. Just like the people of the biblical era, Women of the world have gathered to preach in their own name about the evil that has engulfed them. The only difference is that we are yet to find our (Miss)iah who will die for our sins to end this struggle and fear.

Truth is, I still love and appreciate men even though the pain of abuse has struck #metoo. I seem to still tear up inside when I see a male weep, even if he's a perpetrator. I still wish mercy upon the one who is imprisoned for rape when the same is done to him.

I am yet to figure out why I feel the way I do for men, just as they still need to comprehended the existence of Women.

The strange thing is that life comes through Women but our place in the world is still unsettled. We find ourselves living to prove a point because even in our own natural state, we are strange and therefore attract hostility from our counterparts.

We are robed in shiny things then put on pedestals to be viewed and later used as experiments to test the weakness of crazy men.

'Consensual' is the unspoken contract we are bound by to tame any rebellion that may compromise the satisfaction of it's beneficiary.

The worst is that there is no action great enough to halt this because we may know who we are and what we want, but who cares?

A friend once said that Black Women live three different lives: The men's; our own; and society's - all in effort to hide the 'alien' in us and survive.

The moment we are too demanding; too beautiful; too vocal; too free; too independent and just too much - DEATH is our punishment.

I salute and pray for more strength for the men who know that they too can be animals but contain and control their emotion in spite of any trigger by female behaviour or characteristic. Your strength make you better men.

Though the future may seem bleak, the weak always get a chance to rise and conquer. For the sake of all men, I pray for change, as the retaliation of Women is the mother of all wars.
